Here’s a rundown of all things Dixon that happened at SDCC 2012…
July 12: SDCC opens today and we already have some tantalizing Activision booth imagery courtesy of Collider showing the promotional poster for the new Walking Dead video game. You can check the album below for all the Daryliciousness, but if you want to see some of the other awesome booth set-ups SDCC has to offer (Walking Dead booth included) be sure to check out the Collider site! If you happen to be one of the lucky ducks actually attending SDCC, be sure to drop by the Activision booth because not only will you get eye fulls of Daryl, but you’ll be able to check out exclusive screenings of the new trailer for The Walking Dead video game and if you pre-order it you’ll get an exclusive replica ear necklace like the one pictured above.
Also, Norman kicked off the SDCC press-machine with an interview yesterday in the San Diego City Beat where he discussed all things Daryl and Season 3…
I can tell you that Season 3 is going to blow the pants off of everyone. What we did last season is not even comparable to what we’re doing this season. We are going to set records that people have never even thought of before. I say that with all honesty. Andy [Andrew Lincoln, who plays lead character Rick Grimes] and I were in our trailer the other day, reading the scripts, jumping up and down, going, ‘No way, I can’t believe we’re going there.’ It’s crazy. It’s insane. I can’t tell you enough. You’re going to freak out.
You know what? We’re not a big fan of pants anyway. Commence with blowing them off, TWD S3!
July 13: Today was the big Walking Dead push – pressers, panel and the new Season 3 trailer! (Which literally had us gasping for breath and then the last few seconds took what little breath we had left away.) Before we get to the other stuff, let’s watch that trailer again, shall we?
Video of the panel has yet to pop up (there are pics below), but there is a detailed live blog which will have to tide us over until then. Things we learned from today’s panel: Norman uses bacon as fish bait (while I agree bacon makes everything better, that probably doesn’t quite ring true for fishing…), Yuen should do a new show called Everybody Loves Steven, Andy and Norman are bromancing, Shane and Andrea had quite a few honks cut out of their S2 sex scene, and the premiere date for Season 3 of The Walking Dead is October 14th!
July 14: We are starting to wind down our rabid SDCC coverage. How is it possible for a con to exhaust you when you weren’t even there? Some more images have been added to the SDCC album (below) and this morning we woke up to full audio (and some commentary) of The Walking Dead panel from our guys over at WDTV Podcast. (Thanks guys!) As if that weren’t enough, full video of the panel was also uploaded by magicinthenumbers on YouTube (3 parts – embedded below)…
